OUR HISTORY
Many years ago, during a specialized seminar for various police forces, a critical issue was identified: canine units lacked the proper equipment to ensure the safety and durability needed to effectively perform their duties. Recognizing this opportunity, we founded Special K9 to provide the right tools for these critical teams.
Our mission goes beyond supporting dogs and their handlers; it's about contributing to the well-being of our community. These are the dogs who keep our streets safe and drug-free, among other vital roles. By equipping them with the necessary equipment, we enhance their ability to serve and protect, fostering a safer and more resilient society as Costa Rica continues to grow and advance.
In the early days, one of our biggest challenges was gaining the trust of government entities. As a small company, we worked hard to demonstrate why investing in the right equipment is crucial. It wasn't just any leash or collar; each piece serves a specific purpose vital to the safety and effectiveness of these dogs. Through annual training on innovative techniques and products, and a commitment to the quality of our products, we have built (and hope to continue creating new) relationships that ensure canine units have the tools they need to perform their vital roles. We continue to strive to make a meaningful impact in our community.
